What Types of Medical Errors Are Considered Malpractice?
Video Transcript
What types of medical errors are considered malpractice? There are many different types of medical errors that can qualify as malpractice. Here are a few examples. This occurs when a doctor fails to correctly diagnose your condition or fails to diagnose in a timely manner, leading to a worsening of your condition. This can include operating on the wrong body part, leaving surgical instruments inside a patient, or performing unnecessary surgery. If a doctor fails to order necessary tests or misinterprets those test results, it can delay or prevent a proper diagnosis and treatment. This is not an exhaustive list, and if you believe you may have been the victim of medical malpractice, it is important to consult with an experienced medical malpractice attorney. At Duffy and Duffy, we have a team of skilled attorneys who can help you understand your rights and options if you have been injured due to medical negligence.
Medical mistakes happen — but not all are just accidents. Misdiagnoses, surgical errors, and delayed or improper testing can cross the line into malpractice. Know your rights if a medical error has caused you harm.
