87-Year-Old Speaks Out After Nursing Home Fall
Video Transcript
87-year-old Katie Medeiros speaking on camera for the first time from her hospital bed. It sounds like you don't remember much about, about what happened, but- It's there. It's fuzzy. It's fuzzy. It really is. On Saturday, she was picked up by ambulance at Cypress Creek Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Do you think you fell? Yes, I think I fell. They told me that she fell. Uh, they said she fell sometime that morning, and that they found her at 7:00 in the morning. Unfortunately, this kind of abuse occurs all the time in nursing homes. In my over 20 years experience at Duffy and Duffy handling nursing home abuse cases, I have seen cases where there's cover-ups to injuries. If you see your loved one has suffered some type of incident or accident at a nursing home, there are ways to investigate to see whether or not there was neglect. At Duffy and Duffy, we specialize in investigating cases to determine whether there was abuse and, and neglect in nursing homes.
87-year-old Katie Medeiros speaks from her hospital bed after a fall at a nursing home, struggling to recall what happened. Sadly, situations like this are far too common, with neglect and even cover-ups occurring in facilities meant to protect our loved ones. At Duffy & Duffy, we can fight to uncover the truth and hold nursing homes accountable for abuse and neglect.
