Why Is There So Much Abuse in Nursing Homes?
Video Transcript
It's a heartbreaking reality, but nursing home abuse continues to happen. Here are some key factors that I have seen. Understaffing. Many nursing homes don't have enough trained staff to care for residents, leading to neglect and frustration. Lack of training. Inadequate training for staff can result in poor care and sometimes even abuse. Low wages and high turnover. Low pay and high turnover rates contribute to staff burnout, which can compromise the quality of care and lead to harmful behavior. Failure to monitor and report. Facilities may fail to monitor staff, creating an environment where bad practices go unchecked. Abuse in nursing homes is unacceptable. If you suspect your loved one has been mistreated, you need to take action. At Duffy and Duffy, we fight for justice for victims of nursing home abuse and neglect. Learn more about your rights. Understaffing, lack of training, low wages, and high turnover often lead to staff burnout—and unfortunately, it’s the residents who suffer. When nursing homes fail to properly monitor and report bad practices, your loved one’s safety is at risk. Duffy & Duffy is here to stand up for vulnerable residents and may hold negligent facilities accountable.
