Meet Thomas L. Gallivan

Thomas L. Gallivan represents individuals and families in matters of nursing home neglect and abuse, medical malpractice and personal injury. He has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients through settlements and verdicts. Mr. Gallivan gained valuable experience in this field when he defended nursing homes, physicians, and hospitals, as well as their insurers at two large prominent New York defense firms. As a result of this experience, Mr. Gallivan is very familiar with the strategies employed by nursing homes, physicians, hospitals and their insurers. He uses his experience defending these matters to the benefit of his current clients. Mr. Gallivan has particular knowledge and experience holding nursing home accountable in cases involving bedsores, falls, choking incidents, sepsis, as well as physical and sexual abuse under New York State Public Health Law Section 2801-d.

Mr. Gallivan attended St. John’s University of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 2004. He was admitted to practice law in New York in 2005. Mr. Gallivan is a member of the Long Term Care Community Coalition, an organization committed to improving care provided to the elderly and disadvantaged. He is also an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York State Trial Academy and the Westchester County Bar Association.  He previously served as a Board Member for the New York State Trial Academy.

Mr. Gallivan grew up in Westchester County where he now lives with his wife and three children.
