Symptoms of a TIA

Video Transcript

A transient ischemic attack, or TIA, is often referred to as a mini-stroke. It's a temporary blockage of blood flow to the brain. While the symptoms of a TIA are similar to a stroke, they usually last only a few minutes and cause no permanent damage. However, a TIA is a serious warning sign of a potential stroke. It's crucial to seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following symptoms: sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body, sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding, sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes, sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination, sudden severe headache. If you or a loved one has experienced a TIA and believe medical negligence contributed to a delayed or misdiagnosis, contact Duffy and Duffy. Our experienced attorneys can help you understand your legal rights and pursue compensation for damages.

A TIA, or transient ischemic attack, is often called a "mini-stroke" — and it can be a critical warning sign of a future, more serious stroke. Recognizing the symptoms early can be the difference between recovery and tragedy.
