Nearly 2,000 Doctors in New York State Have Faced Disciplinary Action

Video Transcript

Recently, you may have heard that nearly 2,000 doctors in New York State have faced disciplinary action from hospitals and malpractice carriers, but no consequences from the office and boards of professional and medical conduct. There were allegations of sexual abuse, child pornography, criminal conduct, and they were allowed to keep practicing. The Office of Professional Medical Conduct, decided on a non-punitive approach, and unfortunately what that means is they are permitted to keep practicing without any sort of restrictions on their license. So if you are someone who's been affected, very often you may not be able to seek a remedy from a criminal angle, and so your only line of defense would be to contact a law firm like Duffy and Duffy because we can investigate the situation and see if we can hold them accountable in a way that the state or the regulatory bodies haven't.

Nearly 2,000 doctors have faced disciplinary action—but many patients never hear about it. Associate Attorney Taryn Caruso of Duffy & Duffy highlights the shocking truth behind medical accountability. Just because someone wears a white coat doesn’t mean they’re above the law. Patients deserve transparency, safety, and justice.
