UNIONDALE, NY – Duffy & Duffy, PLLC is proud to announce the addition of Taryn Caruso as an Associate Attorney, further strengthening the firm’s commitment to advocating for victims of medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, and personal injury.
Caruso brings a distinctive background to the firm, beginning her professional career in healthcare as a registered nurse at Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jefferson University, she worked directly with patients, gaining firsthand insight into medical treatment, hospital systems, and the impact of negligent care on individuals and families. That experience continues to inform her compassionate, client-centered approach to legal advocacy today.
Driven by a growing interest in the legal aspects of healthcare and patient rights, Caruso transitioned into a paralegal role, where she developed a strong foundation in legal procedure, case development, and client communication. Her work as a paralegal ultimately inspired her to pursue a legal career, combining her medical knowledge with formal legal training.
Caruso earned her Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she further honed her ability to analyze complex medical issues through a legal lens. Prior to joining Duffy & Duffy, PLLC, she practiced as an attorney at Silberstein & Miklos, P.C., where she gained hands-on litigation experience representing injured clients and working on complex personal injury and medical-related cases.
As an associate attorney at Duffy & Duffy, PLLC, Caruso is dedicated to advocating on behalf of individuals harmed by medical malpractice. She is known for guiding clients through difficult legal situations with clarity, integrity, and determination, whether negotiating settlements or preparing cases for trial.
“Taryn’s unique path from nurse to attorney gives her an invaluable perspective in medical malpractice litigation,” said Michael E. Duffy, Managing Partner and General Counsel of Duffy & Duffy, PLLC, “Her ability to understand both the medical and legal sides of a case makes her a tremendous asset to our clients and our team.”
Caruso is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.
