Mary D. Tierney
Mary Tierney, and associate with Duffy & Duffy, is a highly experienced counselor representing plaintiffs in complex medical malpractice and hospital claims. Early in her legal career, Ms. Tierney was associated with medical malpractice defense firms. Since 1990, she has concentrated on the representation of plaintiffs in complex medical and hospital malpractice actions and in the area of municipal law. This focus area, coupled with Ms. Tierney’s prior background in nursing gives her valuable insight for Duffy & Duffy’s clients.
Prior to going into law, Ms. Tierney received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Cornell University. She was a registered nurse in both the New York City area and Ann Arbor, Michigan. She returned to law school and received her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 1982.
Ms. Tierney is admitted to practice in New York State Courts and is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Brehon Society of Suffolk County, NY.
