Uniondale, NY, July 1, 2010 - Duffy & Duffy, a preeminent medical malpractice law firm based in Uniondale, N.Y., announced that Mary Ellen Duffy, a partner in the firm’s Uniondale office, will join the Life’s WORC Board of Directors. Life’s WORC, a not-for-profit organization, provides services that facilitate an independent and productive life experience for individuals with developmental disabilities, including the autism spectrum.

Life’s WORC, is based in Garden City and operates under the auspices of the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD). The organization works collaboratively with individuals and their families in the development of a life plan that offers every person the opportunity to be productive members of their communities, rich in friendships, relationships and value, regardless of their level of capabilities.
In addition to her involvement in Life’s Worc, Ms. Duffy is also an active member of the legal community. She is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar, the Nassau County Bar Association, the Women in the Courts Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Medical Malpractice Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. She has a law degree from Fordham Law School and a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Management from the New York University Stern School of Business.
